My finished ancillaries:
Digi-Pak:

I decided to do my Digi-Pak on Photoshop as I haven't used this before and wanted to learn some new skills. I found a template for my Digi-Pak online and then set to work on which photo I would use.
I knew straightaway that I wanted to use the photo of Jesse sitting on the stairs as my album cover as I feel this is one of our strongest photos and it is one of my personal favourites.
I then decided to use the blue and red lit photo as my back page after looking at previous Twenty One Pilot album covers as I saw that they tend to have a strong photo on the front and a plainer one on the back. The colours of this also fit in with the theme that runs throughout our music video which are deep reds and blues.
I then decided on my third picture which would go underneath the CD disc tray. This is a photo that I took in London at a train station and I felt it really complimented the other 2 photos.
This is the back panel on my Digi-Pak. I used the Twenty One Pilots logo to head and foot the songs on the album and then had the song name in bold followed by the artist or bands name in light text.
I then included the website addresses for the Twenty One Pilots homepage and also their record companies homepage. I then layered this on top of my back image and centred the text so it would look more professional.
This is the front panel on my Digi-Pak. I used this picture of our actor Jesse as the main cover as I feel it is one of our strongest pictures. I then added a bold title over the top of the photo followed by the album name underneath. I had originally inserted a white line going through both the letter O's in the 'Twenty One Pilots' text however for some reason Photoshop removed this and so it did not end up on my final piece.

This is the left inside panel of my Digi-Pak. I felt that this photo fitted in with the theme of the rest of the Digi-Pak and also with the music video as it doesn't reveal the artists face and so keep the element of mystery going. I also added in two astons with text spelling out lyrics from the song.
This is the right inside panel of my Digi-Pak where the CD Disc tray lies. I wanted this to be a plain photo so as not to detract attention from the Cd itself. I really liked this photo which was captured at a London underground station and so decided to use it. It also links in with my website as this picture is the background design on there.

This was my first idea for my ancillary Digi-Pak. I used 4 different images - one of Jesse as the main cover, a pale pinky red one as the inside left cover, a purple blurred style photo on the back cover and a photo of the drummer Simon as the background for the CD tray case page. On the inner left page I wrote out the lyrics to the song however, I encountered some difficulties fitting all the lyrics in and still having them big enough to read.

However, our product focuses on a mysterious main character and so I felt that the inner right hand side panel photo of Simon was a bit too bright and also showed his face looking happy. Also I felt the lyrics on the inside left panel looked too amateurish and so I decided I would change these two panels.

This is my final design of the Digi-Pak. I feel the pictures work well with each other in terms of look and colour scheme and that they keep the element of mystery that we have created in our production.

Magazine advert:

This was my initial idea for the magazine advert. I included the generic conventions of a magazine advert such as the band name, release date, single name, apps it is on and reviews. I used a photo which focuses on the main actor Jesse but still has an element of mystery as he is in a building that is clearly abandoned,is wearing dark clothing and has face paint on. However after printing it out and placing it alongside my Digi-Pak I decided that the poster would link better if it was in colour.

I then changed the poster to colour which I personally thought looked a lot better and fitted in nicely with the colours used in the music video and on the Digi-Pak. I also really liked the font style that was used for the word 'Heathens' as I felt using different sized letters made it more edgy which fitted in with the vibe of the song and the impression we were trying to give.

This is the final version of my magazine advert. I included lots of common conventions of magazine adverts in my poster such as release date, apps its can be found on, Song title and ratings. I feel this magazine advert really compliments my Digi-Pak as the photo used is similar to one used on the inside of the Pak.
